Glacier Ice Arena’s
Thanksgiving Hockey Shootout a Success
In hockey-speak, Thanksgiving always means traveling for a tournament and at the Glacier Ice Arena it was no different as they hosted a 50+ team event featuring teams from Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Giving an International flair to the Tournament was a team from Russia.
The Thanksgiving Shootout Tournament was hosted by Glacier Hockey and Ice Dogs Hockey. Games began on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and were played until the Championship games were final on Sunday. Teams were represented from Mite through Midget/JV level with AA, A & B divisions. Besides the competitive hockey that took place over the course of six days, Ice Dogs hockey parents hosted a bake sale and a raffle, and a silent auction took place offering parents the opportunity to bid on fan favorite framed pictures of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bobby Hull, Phil and Tony Esposito, and U.S. Olympian Jim Craig to name a few.

Congratulations go out to all the participants of the Thanksgiving Shootout with Special Accolades given to the finalists in each division and Championship teams awarded the Shootout Trophy.
